Village Savings and Loan Associations
Village Savings and Loan Associations (or VSLA) training is an integral part of our GBV project and aims to promote the economic empowerment of women.
Over the course of the three-year project, 300 impoverished women will partake in multiple training sessions that teach basic financial literacy including how to track spending and ways to plan for future expenditures. Women groups will be given training on basic business management and development to embark on new income generating activities to increase their earning potential and improve their living conditions. In order to combat GBV, women must gain equality with men, and this includes economic equality which will increase their financial and social freedom.
