Preventing Gender Based Violence
HANDLE has launched a new three-year project that seeks to tackle widespread Gender Based Violence (GBV) in the Nwoya District. In post-conflict settings, GBV tends to increase as people struggle with the stresses of finding stability and reintegrating back into peaceful conditions.
We will be implementing a multi-dimensional approach that targets women and men, as well as youth, to increase awareness of GBV in their communities and decrease its prevalence. One of the mainstays of our project is to partner with local government and police to deliver community sensitization sessions during special social events and radio broadcasts.
